After three futile attempts at establishing a professional football team in Detroit in the 1920s, the professional football team formed in 1929 as the Portsmouth Spartans of Portsmouth, Ohio. the Spartans, who were one of the first members of the American Professional Football Association (APFA). The lack of on-field success led to an off-field purchase and the franchise moved to Detroit in 1934. The team was rebranded as the Detroit Lions, a nod to the Detroit Tigers professional baseball team.

Ford Field Stadium is a multi-purpose indoor stadium located in Downtown Detroit; it seats 70,000 and is known for integrating lots of glass, allowing natural light inside. A six-story glass atrium provides fans amazing views of the city’s downtown skyline. There’s also nothing like watching a Detroit Lions game from the comfort of a Luxury Suite.

The Lions do have an NFL Championship (1957), but they've yet to make an appearance to compete for the ultimate title. Fans are eager to see if the “kings of the jungle” make their way to the Super Bowl this year.
